“Deliberately seek the company of people who influence you to think and act on building the life you desire” ~Napoleon Hill

Jim Rohn said you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Look around, are you spending time with people who build you up, or tear you down. Your network is your net worth, so finding people who influence you to perform at your best is the goal of having good mentors, and being part of a mastermind.

What makes a good mentor or mastermind group?

  1. Find mentors or mastermind groups with people who are where you want to be. There is a difference between being a mentor and having a mentor. If you are looking to grow and challenge yourself, you need to find people who will challenge you. There is something to be said about starting a group, or being a mentor to those who are just starting out. We are firm believers in teaching is a great way to hone your skills and learn. However finding someone who can coach you up, is the fastest way to success.
  2. Its ok to find specific mentors, for specific skills you are trying to learn. No one knows everything, so finding people to help you in specific areas. This will really help you grow quickly. You might have to have multiple mentors to get where you want to go.
  3. You mentor ‘s time is valuable, especially if you are paying that person to mentor you. Consider finding an accountability partner to help implement the ideas your mentor brings to you. If that person has a mentor, you will gain knowledge from their mentor at the same time.
